Allah
the Almighty states:
"And made the moon a light in their
midst and made the sun as a (Glorious)
Lamp?"
(Wa ja'alal
qamara fihin na nu_raw wa ja'alas samsa SIRA_JA_)
[Surah Nuh (71):
16]
Here the word 'SIRA_JA_' is used to refer to the sun, as a
light, a lamp, a
means of guidance to be able to see during the
day.
However when we read the following verse.
"And
as one who invites to Allah's (Grace) by His leave and as a
Lamp
spreading Light"
(Wa da_iyan ilal la_hi bi iznihi wa
SIRA_JAM MUNIRA_)
[Surah al Azhab (33): 46]
The word
SIRA_JAM MUNIRA is used here to refer to the Prophet Muhammad,
also
as a light, or a beacon who is bringing wisdom, knowledge,
guidance.
May Allah help us all see and understand the
simplicity of Islam as clear as
the light lets us see during the
day, ameen.
